From the renown Canadian vapes' manufacturer Arizer is the new Air II, still with all that made the original Air great but now with full digital temperature control, USB arizer-air2-sizecharging, improved battery life, a bright OLED screen and without the need of an app. Simple, efficient and durable...well done Arizer!

Manufacture and Design

Arizer has a great track record when it comes to manufacture quality. Their portable vaporizers can take a severe pounding without showing much wear and the Arizer Air II is no different. The only replacement part that may and probably will need replacing at some point is the glass mouthpiece, let’s face it we are all stoners here and glass is inevitably going to break, borosilicate glass or not.

“Easy to Use, Maintenance Free, Precision Temperature Control & Custom Session Settings. A simplified and personalized vaping experience without apps or gimmicks.”

The Air II has full temperature control with easy-to-navigate buttons. The small yet very clear screen shows temperature, battery life, as well as letting you set the auto-shutoff timer, reminder tone volume, display brightness, and the length of time you need to hold down the buttons in order to turn it on. The updated controls have changed in layout but are roughly in the same place; the charging port is still on the back of the unit but it has changed from DC plug to a USB Micro-B. Like the Solo II, The Air II is available in both carbon black & mystic blue. The anodized aluminum shell is light, yet sturdy and feels solid, without being too heavy. The Air II is extremely comfortable to hold and use.

Arizer Air II includes a two-year warranty. Covering any workmanship issues or defects, with a lifetime warranty covering the heating element and with interchangeable batteries the life span of the vape extends past the natural lifespan of any one battery.

“Durable, Reliable, and the highest quality components. Backed by a 2-Year Warranty!”

air2-solo2Battery and Charge

The Arizer Air II has about 75min battery life enough for about 8 sessions. It isn’t quite as revolutionary as the Solo 2, but it’s a noticeable improvement and a very solid battery life for a vape running off a single 18650 Li ion battery which is fully charged in 3.5 hours.

Another great feature of the Air II is the fact that the battery is user-replaceable, meaning if you can keep the party going even when you’re not at home. This as well as the ability to vape away while on charge, means no down time ever – which is great as you’ll never be left with just an expensive paperweight.

Rechargeable batteries however, do have a lifespan and will eventually die. When this happens it's as easy as buying a new one.

Portability and Discreetness

“Perfectly Portable. Stay out longer with pre-loaded tubes & spare batteries packed in the included carrying case.”

The Air II’s cylinder-shaped exterior hasn’t changed at all from its predecessor and fits effortlessly into your pocket when its mouthpiece is not attached. Good thing they include a belt-clip carry case, which can also hold an extra packed stem – nice. It’s great for ‘at-home’ use and while it is portable, carrying multiple pieces around isn't too pocket-friendly. arizer-air-air2

In terms of discreetness the Air II still relies on the glass stem/mouthpiece making it not the most discreet vape on the market but I’ve found that it’s not impossible to be inconspicuous.

Now for the fun part, using the Air II

When the device is still new step 1 and 2 should be done first because it makes the mouthpiece easier to insert, after a few uses, you can start with step 3 and then follow the power up and temp selection sequence.

  1. Power up the device by holding down the power button until the countdown is complete and you are greeted with a friendly smiley face.
  2. Choose your temperature using the up and down arrows.
  3. Pack your herb into the base of the mouthpiece and tap your herb down slightly to create a slight gap between your herb and the base opening.
  4. Insert mouthpiece.
  5. Wait a few moments, inhale and enjoy.

The Air II is very economical using only about .15 grams of ground flower and produces tasty vapor with no special draw techniques, making this a straightforward, easy to use vape right out of the box.

The Air II uses both conduction and convection heating creating a smooth, tasty and efficient vaping experience. The powerful heating element in the Arizer Air II lets you easily draw tasty clouds quickly or take slow flavorful sips.

Vapor Quality

The vapor quality from the previous Air hasn’t changed much, but with the stellar reputation that Arizer has it would be pretty hard for noticeable improvements. A combination of glass, ceramic, and stainless steel make up the vapor path, so flavors are pure and vapor is smooth, especially when using the longer mouthpiece.

An open isolated air-path combined with the sunken “heat jets” help to evenly distribute heat around the oven offering better airflow than that of its predecessor and the more powerful heating element lets you draw harder while maintaining the set temperature.

Maintenance and Clean up

The Air II has very low maintenance, just empty out your ABV from the glass chamber when done, no other cleanup necessary. They include a cleaning tool which can be used to scrape out any herb residue from the mouthpieces and if need be just dip the stems in some isopropyl alcohol until residue dissolves away followed by a warm water rinse.

And if you fully empty the oven after each use and make sure to keep your loose herbs out of the oven, this vaporizer won’t require much cleaning.

pax3-air2-iqFinal Thoughts

With great vapor quality, easy to use digital controls as well as the ability to swap out batteries, the Arizer Air II is a great buy. When comparing it to the original Arizer Air, with the second generation you get better battery life, faster heat-up time and full temperature control.

Put against similar performing devices like the PAX 3 or the DaVinci IQ, again out of the AIR II you’ll get more sessions out of a fully charged unit, better vapor quality, higher efficiency, minimal maintenance but the Achilles’ heel is in its portability.

If you have any questions or anything to add please feel free to do so in the comments.

For now, happy vaping!
